Dawei Zhang - Prospective Students

To Prospective Students:

The Visual Intelligence and Multimedia (VIM) group is a part of the Machine Learning and Vision Laboratory in the School of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang Normal University. The VIM group is led by Dr. Dawei Zhang.

Research Interests:

Visual Perception: Image fusion, low-light image enhancement, depth estimation, visual saliency, object detection, and segmentation.
Motion Analysis: Single object tracking, uav tracking, anti-uav tracking, rgb-x tracking, person re-id, and multiple object tracking.
Deep Learning: Vision transformer, mamba, foundation models, prompt learning, domain adaption, adversarial attack and defense.
Multimedia Computing: Multimodal fusion, cross-modal retrieval, image caption, referring expression grounding, vision-language.

We are currently looking for three or four self-motivated master students each year to work on interesting research in computer vision, such as object detection, visual tracking, saliency detection, segmentation, low-light image enhancement, multi-modal fusion, vision language models, adversarial attack and other related areas. Qualified students will be supported by research assistantships.

We prefer the students who have solid mathematical foundations, strong programming skills, and good English abilities (listening/reading/writing). The experiences in research (e.g. projects, academic competition, publications, etc.) will be a benefit. For the students who succesfully get their reseach papers accepted by top conferences, we will financially support them to participate in the conferences. Extra bonus is also distributed.
